FULL DAY JAIPUR SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast drive to Amer fort 11 km outside of Jaipur the former medieval capital, built by Raja Man Singh and visit 420 year old Amber fort. Amber fort depicts true royal lifestyle of the Rajputs. Inside the fort you will see marble palaces, mosaics, paintings, mirror palace, carvings, mural walls, engravings and Zenana Mahal.
After visiting Amber fort return to the Jaipur city en route take a photo stop at Jal Mahal (Water palace), is a five story high palace located in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. The four floor stay under the water it is only the fifth floor which is visible.
Your next visit is the glorious City palace. Inside the city palace see the peacock gate, art gallery and exhibits of royal costumes and medieval Indian armaments, exclusive collection of regal costumes, Diwan-I-Khas (Hall of private audience) and everyone’s favourite the biggest silver object on earth; these are two mammoth silver vessels 1.6 m tall.
Afterwards you visit Jantar mantar a gigantic solar observatory with a brilliant display of Indian architecture that shows the scientific expertise that existed in medieval India. It is made up of some 14 most important geometric devices which track the location of stars, measure time, predict eclipses, as well as earth’s orbit around the sun.
Rest of the day is free for shopping in the colourful bazaars of Jaipur.
